Here Comes Santa Bongo Bob

Yeah, thats me! Nothing like a good December snow, some skiing, a jacuzzi with Mrs. BongoBob and a little spiked eggnog to get the blood flowing.

Oh yeah. Feeling dog gone good. And when I'm feeling good, unlike a lot of my firends who just lay down and nap, I get to thinking.

And today, I got to thinking about the spirit of Christmas. Yeah, Christmas. Not some bullshit PC "holiday" mood...but the real deal. Call it for what it is. Christmas.

Now, I'm not trying to get approval from some wacked out right wing christian group that shops at my store. Hell, I don't have a store. And I'd just as soon take a bite out of those wackos anywho.

I just think that a holiday, any holiday...Christmas, Hannuka, Ramadan...whatever, should be called by its real name. Not some bullshit, watered down label.

When I want to bark out a good Merry Christmas to my dogs...I don't mean Happy Holiday!

So, get outta my store and my face all you PC Scrooges. Because, my bite just may be worse than my bark.

Dog Gone Good To Be Back

Sorry about being gone from these parts for so long, but as you'll soon realize, I was pretty darn busy. But, today is a special day and I thought I'd celebrate by bringing Bongo Bob back to the blogs!

Oh my.......yes indeed, it's Birthday Bongo! I can't tell you how depressing it is....everyone wants to know how old I am.....in dog years!!!!!

Give me a break! No, give me a......bone! I've been brooding....thinking about my years padding around this dusty old globe.....and have much to bark about......As one of my dog gone friends so aptly put it the other day....we're here for such a short time, we'd better make the most of it.

And so I have. Spending the summer chewing on bones and chasing my cat friends. I swam a little, napped in the shade some, ate a bunch...and repeated as necessary!

I also took a top secret trip to Iraq. And here's what I learned.

Most the dogs and cats there...are just like the dogs and cats here. They just want a bone to chew on, a full belly, some friends and family close by and a chance to make an honest living.

And while they never really had all that while that bad cat Sadam was in charge, they really don't have it now either. They want our military dogs outta there sooner rather than later. And they want to be able to figure out how their their yard should be set up for themselves.

Right now, it kinda feels like they all have those zapper collars on in a yard that has ever changing boundaries. Not fun.

So they'd like us to finish up training their own yard dogs, step back to a safe distance...say Kuwait...and take the leashes off and see how it all sorts out.

I'm sure it will be messy at first and the fur will really fly, but hey, sometimes it gets messy when you grow up and have to figure the world out for yourself.

Me....I'm happy to be home. I've got a good glow in the dark bone and a chewy football.

And I"m tanned, rested and ready for a whole new season.

And as fall is drifting toward Winter, I've managed time to wax and test my boards for a little downhill action. Yes, life IS good.

Sorry for the absence from the blogosphere all these months. Hopefully it has made your heart grow fonder.
